Therapy That Honors Your Whole Self
At Somatic Women, we know that navigating life’s challenges, whether it’s stress, anxiety, grief, or past emotional wounds can feel overwhelming. You may want to feel more grounded, break old patterns, or reconnect with yourself, but aren’t sure where to start. You don’t have to figure it out alone.
Our integrative approach blends talk therapy with body-based practices and mindfulness. Drawing from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and somatic methods, we create space for both reflection and action. Together, we’ll explore tools that help you calm your nervous system, shift unhelpful thought patterns, and make choices that align with your values.
Inclusivity is at the heart of this work. We honor diverse identities, cultures, and lived experiences, and we understand how trauma, relationships, and systemic stressors can impact your well-being. Therapy here is a place where you can feel seen, heard, and supported exactly as you are.
Wherever you are in your journey, we’ll move at your pace supporting you to cultivate self-awareness, emotional balance, and resilience so you can live more fully and authentically.

About
Somatic Women
Q: What kind of therapy do you offer at Somatic Women?
At Somatic Women, therapy is never one-size-fits-all. We take an integrative approach, blending body-based somatic practices with evidence-based cognitive behavioral therapies — including ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy), mindfulness, and values-based work. In our sessions, we don’t just talk about your thoughts — we also explore how emotions live in your body, how stress patterns show up physically, and what it feels like to reconnect with yourself in a deeper way. Whether you need grounding in the moment, practical skills for daily life, or space to gently explore trauma, therapy is shaped around what feels most supportive for you. Our approach supports you in understanding how your thoughts, behaviors, and body are connected — helping you move toward healing that feels grounded, sustainable, and aligned with your values. Whether you’re navigating anxiety, perfectionism, or disconnection from your body, our work is flexible, research-informed, and deeply attuned to your unique experience. Q: How does online therapy work?
All sessions at Somatic Women are offered via secure telehealth, which makes therapy more flexible and accessible — especially if you’re juggling work, caregiving, or simply prefer the comfort of your own space. Online therapy isn’t less connected. In fact, many clients find it easier to settle into themselves in familiar surroundings. Our work may include mindfulness practices, nervous system regulation, values exploration, somatic awareness, or practical strategies — all adapted to your needs and what you’re comfortable with in a virtual setting. We currently serve women located in Massachusetts, Connecticut, and Florida.
Q: Is your approach right for me?
Many of the women we work with come to therapy feeling anxious, overwhelmed, disconnected, or stuck in perfectionism. Some are navigating the impact of past emotional neglect or trauma, while others are simply seeking space to grow, stay grounded, or process major life transitions with support. At Somatic Women, we take a personalized approach — one that honors your story, your body, and your values. Whether you're working through patterns that no longer serve you, or just need a place to land and reconnect with yourself, we meet you where you are. Please note: insurance typically only covers therapy that’s considered medically necessary, which usually means there is a mental health diagnosis. If you're seeking support that falls outside of that — like general self-development or preventive care — we may be able to work together on a private pay basis.
Q: Do you take insurance or how do I pay for therapy?
Yes — Somatic Women currently accepts Aetna insurance for therapy sessions. If you have Aetna, we can directly bill your plan for you. If your insurance provider is different, we can provide you with a “superbill” — a detailed receipt that you can submit to your insurance company for possible out-of-network reimbursement. Reimbursement policies vary by plan, so it’s a good idea to check with your provider about your benefits. For more information about how out-of-network billing works and tips to navigate it, please see our blog post on out-of-network insurance. We also offer private pay options for clients without insurance coverage or those seeking services not covered by insurance, such as general wellness or growth-focused therapy. During your initial consultation, we can discuss payment plans and find what works best for you. We’re here to support you in accessing therapy in a way that feels clear and manageable.
